It's been very, very busy
for us here at Gartlan USA.First and foremost was the Yellow Submarine Collection. We knew this project would be a large under-taking, but we also knew that it would be well worth the efforts to see this hugely popular, almost cult-like movie enter our collector family. This collection will coincide with the re-release of the movie and CD, featuring original songs that were edited out thirty years ago. The publicity around this will be huge, even the Post Office has gotten into the frenzy by issuing a new "Beatles Yellow Submarine" commemorative Postage Stamp for release in late summer 1999. This has given Gartlan USA the unique opportunity to do what wasn't done before—provide an assortment of high quality, limited edition collectibles in a wide range of prices to celebrate this historic film. We know from visiting with may of the Beatles fans out there, that this type of collection is long over-due.
We are hopeful that our collector's will enjoy this new edition to Gartlan USA and will look forward to what could be on ongoing series.
The second addition to our Collector Family includes none other than the premier rocker OZZY OSBOURNE. Ozzy's likeness has been captured eerily on both the figurine and collector plates. We were lucky enough to have Ozzy personally sign the 10 1/4" plates and the large figurines, and now our collector will benefit. Our editions are very limited (we couldn't let Ozzy wear his magical hands out!!) so order your favorite Ozzy Osbourne collector piece today.
Rock in the New Year 2000, with our exclusive KISSmas 2000 Christmas Plate. We are very excited about this new collector piece, and from talking to friends at the Trade Shows, we know everyone will be sharing our excitement. This is the first ever Christmas Plate featuring KISS released this year. No Christmas holiday will be complete without this unique collectible. This Christmas is very special -it is the last holiday season of this millennium. That's why we included the reference to the eyar 2000 on the plate. KISS has always been on the leading edge of music and staging technology, and this collector plate leads us into the next century. When anyone asks what the "K" stands for in Y2K, you can tell them it stands for KISS! This plate is available in two sizes 8 1/8Ó and 3 1/4", which has a pierced spine, allowing it to be used as a hanging ornament. This plates joins our KISS Classic Collection & Psycho Circus Collection.
Next on our list of accomplishments this year, is the addition of our Ringo Starr Pewter figurine which we released in March of 1999. The collection depicts Ringo, leaning against a wall and flashing a peace sign (a perfect mate for Gartlan USA's John Lennon Pewter Figurine, released in 1998). Limited to a worldwide edition of 500 pieces, each sequentially numbered figurine is 9Ó x 6Ó, personally autographed by Ringo, and dramatically presented on dark wood plynth. Suggested retail price for this figurine is $495. An exclusive artist proof version will be available, brilliantly finished in sterling silver plate and personally signed by Ringo. Limited to only 50 pieces (and going fast) the artist proof will retail for $895. Rounding out this collection will be a smaller, unsigned version of the pewter figurine. Limited to 5,000 pieces, the 4 1/2" piece will retail for $125. As is tradition with Gartlan USA products, the Ringo Starr pewter figurines come with a Certificate of Authenticity, and because we use metal of smelt firearms that were obtained through weapon recycling programs, a Certificate of Issuance, showing when and where the metal was smelted.
Finally, as promised, we have added four new images to our series of John Lennon Collector plates. As with the first series, these images capture John's commitment to a peaceful co-existence with his message of peace, love and understanding manifested through his graphic art. The new artwork features a colorized version of his "Self-Portrait", which we call "Self-Portrait, Too". The other four are entitled: "Looking Back", "Baby Grand", "Why Not?", and "Feeling Good". Like the first edition, these plates will be available in two sizes — 8 1/8" and 31/4".
