Gartlan USA, America's
premiere producer of limited-edition, personally autographed collectibles,
joins the celebration by presenting an exciting new collection inspired
by the classic film, Yellow Submarine.
Release of the Gartlan USA collection occurs in conjunction with a massive relaunch of the Yellow Submarine movie and soundtrack in 1999. Events will include highly publicized screenings of the movie at select movie theaters. The release of a digitally re-mastered video, a new animated TV series, and a re-release of the soundtrack, including four new songs. The U.S. Postal service is also taking part in the event, with a "Beatles Yellow Submarine" commemorative stamp planned for release in late summer, 1999.
"Beatles collectibles have consistently been well received in the market place," said Bob Gartlan, President of Gartlan USA, "but we think our Yellow Submarine collection will be hugely popular. The movie, the video, the soundtrack, all will generate tremendous publicity."
The
collection includes two sets of collector plates. The first one is entitled
"All Together Now", and will come in 8 1/8" and 3 1/4"
sizes. The larger plate will have an edition size of 9,000 and a suggested
retail price of $35.00 The 3 1/4" size will be an open edition with
a price of $17.00.
The
second plate is entitled "Pepperland". The 8 1/8" version
of this plate is our Collector's League piece. The
3 1/4" plate is also an open edition with a retail price of $17.00.
The collection also includes two Yellow Submarine figurines. The larger one is 9" and depicts the four animated Beatles atop the Yellow Sub. This piece will have an edition size of 1,968 and will retail for $195.00. There is also a smaller version of this, measuring approx. 5", will have an edition size of 5,000 and retail for $70.00. For the true collector, there will be an Artist Proof of the 9" available for $295.00 (only 250 in this edition).
Rounding out this collection will be our character figurines. All together, there are 11 characters, including the four Beatles. The seven animated characters are: Max, Glove, Lord Mayor, Bulldog, Blue Meanie, Fred and Jeremy, "The Boob". They will retail for $19.95/each (the seven characters) and the Beatles will be sold as matched numbered set for $99.95.
All eleven characters will be sold as matched numbered sets for $285.00. This set would not be complete without the Bandstand/Display stand that has been designed specifically for this collection. This will retail for $30.00.
Also
included in this collection is Hanging Yellow Submarine Figurine. This piece
measures approximately 5" and is limited to an edition size of 10,000.
It retails for $25.00 and a custom stand (similar to photo) is available
for $5.00.
